The ICS Group Announces PFAS Service Area Expansion to Include Minnesota

Due to the increase in awareness, state testing mandates, and federal regulations - the

ICS Group has partnered with BioLargo to expand its PFAS technology reach to include Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, and Minnesota.

The ICS Group has been providing wastewater, energy management, and renewable energy technology for 12 years throughout Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan. PFAS is affecting the Midwest and the expansion will provide peace of mind to many communities in Minnesota. The President and founder of ICS Group, Paul Nygaard says, "We pride ourselves on partnering with innovative technology partners to meet and exceed our customers' expectations. There are numerous technology providers available, but we partner with companies who have excellent equipment and are forward-thinking to solve water problems for the future. PFAS is not secluded to one state or another, and this expansion aims to bring safe water to more communities."

For this reason, ICS Group partnered with BioLargo, Inc. (OTCQB:BLGO). BioLargo invents, develops, and commercializes innovative platform technologies to solve cleantech challenges like PFAS contamination, advanced water and wastewater treatment, and more. With over thirteen years of extensive R&D, BLGO holds a wide array of issued patents, maintains a robust pipeline of products, and provides full-service environmental engineering.

BioLargo invented and manufactures the Aqueous Electrostatic Concentrator (AEC), a water treatment device which has been proven to remove over 99% of PFAS chemicals from water. PFAS (sometimes called “forever chemicals”) are a class of man-made chemical contaminants that are bio-accumulative and associated with several serious health problems such as cancer, liver damage, decreased fertility, and thyroid disease, according to the Harvard School of Public Health. The AEC, which was developed with funding support from the US EPA, represents a sustainable, low-operating cost, low-waste solution for PFAS treatment, as compared with competing solutions. The ICS group believes that municipalities will look to lower cost alternatives such as the AEC to remedy PFAS contamination.

The ICS Group will expand its capability to facilitate customer demand in Minnesota by offering water sample testing for PFAS (under BioLargo’s PFAS testing program), AEC technology pilots at affected sites, and efficient PFAS membrane disposal after AEC technology is installed.

According to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, Minnesota's investigation into water contaminated by PFAS started in 2002 when the forever chemicals were traced to several disposal sites near the Twin Cities. "As the number of PFAS affected sites continues to rise, offering these services to municipalities and industries in Minnesota is important" shared Paul Nygaard, President of ICS Group.

Businesses and municipalities are encouraged to contact the ICS Group directly to see how they can help solve customers’ PFAS related water issues.
